‘A conscious approach to dance music’ presented by Katie Otro

In 2016, I sat down with dance music legends and new bloods Acid Mondays, Bushwacka!, Josh Wink, Tiefschwarz and more to discuss the phenomenon of staying well balanced in a capricious world of dance floors.

DJing is one of the most creative and sought after art forms in modern day society. Being paid to travel around the world and playing music that you love, for crowds that move to your every mix, is a pretty sexy job. But the daily hustle and grind it takes to stay behind the decks is not for the faint of heart. Successful DJs are the life of the party, genius music makers, jet set world travelers and savvy business moguls. Physically, mentally and emotionally these artists are faced with a roller coaster of challenges.  From jet lag to the highs and lows of the music industry, DJs deal with difficult experiences that many people never face.  In a world where stamina is an art form, how exactly do DJs not go mad?
