Alternative Christmas gift ideas

Give a meaningful and conscious gift this Christmas.

We have pretty much all experienced the feeling when we realise Christmas is arriving much sooner than we thought and rush to buy presents that no one is really interested in, except the pockets of the people selling it.

A time to connect and celebrate the love you have with family, friends and loved ones, Christmas can also be a conscious joy, that benefits more than the person you gift the gift to. We now live in a society where we can pretty much get what we want, when we want it, so, what can we give?

Time

A friend once said, “your presence is my present”, which I have always remembered. In a world where we seem to have so little of it, a good gift is to spend time with, and give energy to, someone dear to you. Go for a walk and talk and see how they are, or help them paint a wall, connection is a beautiful gift. If there is no one in your immediate circle that you feel you want to spend time with (it happens) then give time to a local shelter or charity that needs it. Also, don’t forget to give yourself this precious gift.

Healing

Everyone needs healing in some way. Gift a massage, a yoga class, a healing session, an astrology session – something that helps the person connect to themselves, to be more conscious of what’s happening, to guide and to heal. If you live in London, Ibiza or NYC I can recommend healers and masseurs. I can also recommend good astrologers to book sessions with, depending on budget – email cosmic@cosmicpineapple.co.uk

Charity donation

A beautiful gift is to give to charity (like adopting an animal with WWF or reserving a place for a homeless person this Christmas with Crisis), a lot of people have a charity close to their heart that they would like to support.

Good Gifts

https://www.goodgifts.org - this website is amazing – you can buy anything from feeding an abandoned cat or dog, to a soft blanket for a new born baby, to planting trees and pineapples, to ‘Peace Oil’ – olive oil produced in Israel by Jews, Arabs, Druze and Bedouin working together, and so much more. Everyone is a winner.

An experience

You never forget a good experience. From a good art expo, to pop up cinemas, immersive experiences, horse riding and ice skating.

Support bespoke and new small designers and craft makers.

There is something really special about the energy put into the product you purchase. Cosmic Pineapple aims to support people with good energy who are making things for the right reasons. Check other features to get ideas – handmade crystal necklacescandles and face creams are a few ideas.

A course

You can gift a course on photography, music, screen play writing, dance, art, or even how to make your own natural skin care products.

Make something yourself

If you don’t have much money, making a present is something so special and from the heart – make a jam or marmalade, make chocolates (go organic if you can!), knit a hat, buy something second hand and customise it… Get creative with ideas.

I’m also not a huge fan of wrapping paper as it is a waste of trees, always try and save your gift wrapping and use recycled products if you can, or get creative and wrap with old magazines and newspapers.

I would love for any other ideas below!

Happy holidays!
