The Seven Spiritual Laws of Success – by Deepak Chopra

The Seven Spiritual Laws are powerful principles; put into practice they set you on a direct course to authentically achieve your goals. Unfold with grace…

Law of Pure Potentiality
On Sunday
I will connect with the field of pure potential, finding every day time to remain silent, simply to exist. Also, I’ll sit alone, in silent meditation, at least twice a day, for about thirty minutes in the morning and thirty minutes in the evening. Every day I will find time to enter into communion with nature and to quietly perceive the intelligence that is in every living thing. I will sit and, in silence, watch the sunset, or listen to the sound of the ocean or a watercourse, or just smell a flower. In the ecstasy of my silence through communion with nature I will enjoy the eternal flutter of life, the field of pure potential and unlimited creativity. I will practice abstaining from judgement. I will start the day with the following statement: “Today I will not make any kind of judgement′′ and I will remember this in the course of the day.

Law of giving
On Monday
I will give a gift – a compliment, a flower, a prayer – to anyone I meet, wherever I go. Today I will give something to all the people with whom I will connect and I will start that process that makes joy, wealth and abundance flow in my life and in other people’s life. Today I gratefully welcome all the gifts that life offers me. I welcome nature’s gifts: sun, bird chirping, or rainfall. Spring, or the first snow of winter. I will also be available to receive gifts from others, whether they are objects, money, compliments, prayers.

Law of karma or cause effect
On Tuesday
Today I will evaluate the choices I make every moment and, thanks to this simple observation, I will bring them to a conscious level. I will know that the best way to prepare for any future moment is to be fully aware of the present. With every choice I make, I will ask myself two questions: ′′ What are the consequences of the choice I’m about to make?” and “This choice will bring satisfaction and happiness to myself and the other people who will be affected?”. I will therefore ask my heart for advice and let me be guided by the feelings of wellbeing or discomfort that leads to me. If the choice I make makes me feel well-being, I will try to reach the set goal with confidence. If, on the other hand, I feel uncomfortable, I’ll give myself a moment of reflection and analyze, with my inner view, the consequences of my action. This process will allow me to make the right choices for myself and those who stand by me.

Law of minimal effort
On Wednesday
I will practice acceptance. Today I will accept people, situations, circumstances and events as they present themselves. I will keep in mind that the present moment is the way it should be because the whole universe is the way it should be. I will not fight against the entire universe, fighting against the present moment. My acceptance is total and absolute. I accept things as they are in the present moment, not how I wish they were. Once I accept things the way they are, I will take responsibility for my situation and for all the events I take as problems. I realize that taking a responsible attitude means not attributing to anyone (not even myself) the fault of the situation I’m in. I also realize that behind every problem there is an opportunity for a solution; the careful search for this opportunity allows me to grab the present moment and transform it into a greater benefit. Today my consciousness will be oriented towards a non-defense attitude. I will repress the urge to defend my point of view. I won’t feel the need to convince others to accept my perspective. I will open up to every point of view and I won’t hold tightly to just one of them.

Law of intention and desire
On Thursday
I’ll make a bucket list and take it with me wherever I go. I will see it before I remain silent and before I start meditation, before falling asleep in the evening and when I wake up in the morning. I will release the desires I wrote and abandon them in the womb of the creator, confident that when things don’t seem to go the way I want, this doesn’t happen by chance and that the creation has even bigger plans for me than mine. I will remember to be aware of the present moment in every action I take. I will not allow obstacles to consume the energy of my attention for the present moment. I will accept the present as it is and I will manifest the future through my strongest, and intense, desires and resolutions.

Law of detachment
On Friday
Today I will practice detachment. I will free myself to be who I am and I will do the same to everyone around me. I won’t impose my personal ideas on how things should be. I won’t impose my solutions to problems because I would create more. I’ll take part in everything, but with detachment. Today I will make uncertainty the main ingredient of my experience. My determination to accept uncertainty will promote the spontaneous emergence of solutions from problems, confusion, disorder and chaos. The more uncertain things seem, the more safe I feel because uncertainty is the way to freedom. Through the wisdom of uncertainty, I will find my confidence. I will enter the field of infinite possibilities and I will taste the excitement you feel when you stay open to a lot of choices. In the field of infinite possibilities I will experience all the joy, adventure, magic and mystery of life.

Law of  dharma or life purpose
On Saturday

Today I will lovingly feed the god or goddess that grows deep in my soul. I will pay attention to the spirit that dwells inside me and soul my body and mind. I will carry the consciousness of eternal being in the temporal experience. I will prepare a list of my peculiar talents and one of the things I love to do when I express them. Expressing them and putting them at the service of humanity, I lose the notion of time and create abundance for myself and others. I will ask myself every day: ′′ How can I be useful?” and ′′ How can I help?”. The answers to these questions will allow me to serve and help my fellow men with love.
