A Yantra is amongst the most powerful ‘centering’ devices for harnessing divine energies. The Sri Yantra is known as the ‘mother’ yantra.
A Yantra is a mystical geometric design. There are many different Yantra manifestations, each leading to higher levels of consciousness through contemplation, concentration and meditation.
The Sri Yantra is named the ‘mother’ Yantra because all other Yantras are said to derive from it.

Known as the ‘Yantra of creation’, the Sri Yantra is made up of nine interlocking triangles. Four triangles point upwards, relating to Shiva – the masculine principle – representing universal consciousness and five triangles point downwards, relating to Shakti – the feminine principle – representing dynamic energy and change. Radiating from the central bindu point, merged together the triangles represent the union of the masculine and the feminine.
With a lot of ‘cosmic’ energy flying around, it is good to have some kind of harnessing device for the messages you receive and to help focus. To use the yantra, sit with a straight spine with the image at eye level, allow your breath to become full, long and slow and focus your eyes on the dot. You will begin to notice the dimensions of the image coming in and out. Do not judge any images or get carried away, simply observe and let them be. Try this for ten minutes a day and see what happens in your life.
