New Moon / Solar Eclipse / Spring Equinox: New Beginnings

High Altitude Eclipse

March 20th brings a New Moon, Solar Eclipse and Spring Equinox – a time for new beginnings.

A time to dream of what you would like to manifest in your life. To work with the flow of universe.

I love the Moon, I just somehow always feel happy when I see it, a space in my heart feels full and I feel safe and protected. The Moon represents the feminine aspect; she mirrors the masculine light of the Sun for our vision on Earth.

The new Moon is the first phase of the Moon, when it orbits closest to the Sun in the sky, as seen from the Earth. More precisely, it is the instant when the Moon and the Sun have the same ecliptical longitude.

I love this dance in the sky, the harmony of the Sun, the Moon and all the planets working together.

Symbolically, the New Moon is the time to plant seeds and set intentions.

Every day when the Sun rises, we have the chance to start anew, with every breath, even.  But somehow, the New Moon always feel strong for this element for me. We enter a new cycle of the Moon orbiting the Earth.

It is a great time to take a breath and try something new, something you always dreamed of…

This new Moon is especially strong as it is also a solar eclipse; when the moon will obscure the sun, visible in high northern latitudes including Greenland, Iceland, Europe, northern Africa, the Middle East and northwestern Asia.

“A solar eclipse is a New Moon with tremendous impact. The Sun that gives us life and lights our path is joined briefly with the dark and mysterious qualities of the Moon. The Moon blocks the light of the Sun. In this moment of perceived darkness, spirituality and the psyche combine anew, beginning another cycle in the spiral of our personal development.

All eclipses indicate change; solar eclipses signify beginnings and usually manifest as events in the outer world. At solar eclipses we: begin something new, make promises to ourselves, commit, announce, present ourselves, show up, make plans, select events, make decisions, rise to the challenge, make an effort, change, mature, take on greater challenges, travel at a faster pace, feel restless, feel pressured by deadlines and a buildup of emotions, experience a crisis and feel excited.

The heightened impact of eclipse energy can be felt by everyone as much as 3 months in advance and has subtle reverberations for as long as 3 years afterwards. Although the energies are most prominent for a week on either side of the eclipse (many feel a heightened sense of anxiety during this period), the influence on events continues. Eclipse periods are extremely active, often associated with meaningful events and public exposure.” From http://www.zodiacarts.com

After a crazy few weeks of intense energy build up on the planet, we welcome this change. The New Moon / solar eclipse also arrives on the day of the Spring Equinox, when day and night are of the same length. Spring Equinox signifies the start of spring. The winter is sleeping and now the warmer months are ahead of us. The ideas and energy we regained and built upon in the winter months are now in the perfect position to blossom and grow. The energy and daylight is now increasing until summer solstice on June 21.

Check this week’s Pele report from Kaypacha:

This new moon falls in the sign of Pisces – where our dreams are born, before it slips into Aries – the planet of action.

A new moon ritual can be as follows, adapt it as you wish.

Light a candle, set your space (check how to meditate feature), breathe.

Write down a list of your hopes, dreams and desires – as many as you like.

Say it out loud. Either outside to the Moon, or you can say to the light of your candle.

Thanks the Moon and universe for listening.

Fold it and put it in a box, or in a safe place – on your altar is perfect.

Say it every day until the Moon is full.

On the day of the full Moon say it one final time and burn the paper and let go.

Surrender and trust that the universe will provide.

Tips

You can also fast on a new Moon and full Moon, as it clears and enhances the energy. I actually find this really hard when living a working life, but I would suggest eating only light / vegetarian foods and drinking lots of water. Paying reverence for the Moon’s energies and support.
