What’s the perfect way to turn an idea into a conspiracy theory? Ban it. And prove that the idea is indeed so dangerous, so seductive that it has to be censored.
You probably wouldn’t think that TED ever operates in the world of censorship, but according to some observers, they have. There’s been at least four TEDx talks that have been censored to some degree – banned, or banned then reinstated. The more Cosmic of the group is Graham Hancock’s ‘War On Consciousness’, an unorthodox commentary on altered states, DMT and ayahuasca.
After sharing his views on the TEDx Whitechapel stage, Hancock came in for a fair bit of stick from TED and had his talk taken offline. Then following a public outcry from his fans, TED retracted their claims, issued an apology of sorts and reinstated the talk to TED.com.
All of which kind of overshadowed Hancock’s lucid War On Consciousness message, which at its core is hard to disagree with. Is it time to reclaim our minds and sovereign spirit? Very probably. Watch the video by clicking the link below.
