Angelo Badalamenti’s Music from Twin Peaks has been remastered

Twenty-six years on from its original release, Angelo Badalamenti’s masterpiece Music from Twin Peaks has been reissued by Death Waltz Recording Company.

The record has been remastered and given a Red Room makeover, pressed on ‘damn fine coffee’ colour vinyl with a die cut zigzag sleeve by artist Sam Smith. An immediate hit, David Lynch’s Twin Peaks went on to become a cult phenomenon, referenced innumerably and an undoubted influence on the box-set blockbusters of recent years. The soundtrack, with its off-the-wall mix of lounge jazz and enchanting ballads sung by Julee Cruise, set the bar for soundtracks to follow. Both Lynch and Badalamenti have approved the newly remastered release. “This is my defining work as a composer and I’m happy it will get a fresh listen,” Badalamenti said in a statement.
